Once the 5 controls are in place, the self-assessment and submission typically take 1–2 weeks. If controls need remediation first, we'll give you a realistic timeline after the initial review.
Standard Cyber Essentials (self-assessed) is sufficient for most tenders and insurance requirements. Cyber Essentials Plus, with its independent audit, is typically requested for higher-risk contracts or larger enterprise clients.
Cyber Essentials certification is valid for 12 months, after which it needs reassessing — we handle the renewal process for existing clients automatically.
You won't be submitted until we're confident you'll pass. Our process is to remediate gaps first, then complete the self-assessment — so a formal failure is rare.
