Case Study: Cloud Migration for a Bedford Estate Agent

A two-office Bedford estate agent needed their business to carry on running even when a laptop failed or went missing. Here is how we moved them to the cloud and built that resilience in.

A Bedford based estate agent with two offices needed their agents to keep working, and keep selling, no matter what happened to the laptop in their hands. Here is what changed after moving to Evoogic Ltd.

The business

An estate agency with two offices across Bedford, agents working both from the office and out on viewings, appraisals and client visits across the town. Property listings, client records and negotiation notes all needed to be accessible wherever an agent was standing.

Before Evoogic

  • Files were held locally on individual laptops, with no consistent backup across the team.
  • A lost, stolen or failed laptop meant lost work, sometimes lost listings, and always lost time.
  • There was no standard way for a new starter or a replacement device to be set up quickly.
  • Staff working between the two offices, or from a viewing, could not always reach the files they needed.

What we did

  • Cloud Migrated the business to Microsoft 365, with mailboxes, calendars and files moved across with no data loss.
  • Set up individual agent laptop sync through OneDrive, so every agent's working files are backed up continuously in the background, not just when someone remembers to save a copy.
  • Configured company wide access so any agent can pick up any properly provisioned laptop, sign into Office 365 and be working again within minutes, with their files already there.
  • Standardised the setup across both offices, so IT support and new starter onboarding follow the same process wherever staff are based.

After Evoogic

For a business built around agents who are rarely sat at the same desk two days running, resilience cannot depend on any one laptop. The real win here was not the migration itself, it was building continuity into the everyday setup, so a failed or missing device is an inconvenience rather than a crisis. If something goes wrong, the answer is simple: log in, and carry on.
